Privacy policy
Last updated: 31 July 2026
Yabuka helps couples organize weddings and communicate with guests they invite personally. This policy describes what data we collect, why, and your rights.
Who we are
Yabuka operates the yabuka.app platform. For privacy requests, contact us at privacy@yabuka.app.
What we collect
Couple accounts: email address and display name for passwordless sign-in. Guest data (entered by the couple): name, email address, and optionally phone number. Invitation metadata: which parties received emails, when links were opened, and similar lifecycle events needed to run the service. We do not use product analytics that identify guests in Phase 1.
Why we use it
To let couples manage their guest list, send personalized save-the-date and invitation emails, and operate gated guest wedding pages. Couple login uses one-time codes sent by email.
Legal basis
We process couple account data to perform our contract with the couple. We process guest data on the couple's instructions and the legitimate interest of delivering invitations the guest was personally sent. Guests may request deletion at any time.
Retention
We retain guest personal data for the wedding lifecycle — while the couple uses Yabuka to organize that wedding. We do not automatically delete data after a fixed period in Phase 1. You may request deletion at any time (see below).
Where data is stored
Data is hosted in the European Union (AWS eu-central-1). Email delivery uses Amazon SES; authentication uses Amazon Cognito; application data is stored in PostgreSQL.
Emails are invitation-only — sent by the couple to addresses they entered themselves. We do not sell lists or send unsolicited marketing. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe from future messages to that address.
Your rights
Under GDPR you may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data. Email privacy@yabuka.app with your request; we will respond within a reasonable time.
